The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium was constructed in the heart of Coimbatore in 1971 in honor of India's renowned leader, Jawaharlal Nehru. The stadium is a home to several athletic clubs, including Gallop Athletic Academy, Kovai Athletic Academy, Triumph, AAA, Genesis, and many more. These clubs employ well-trained and certified coaches who are capable of training beginners as well as national level athletes for sports tournaments around the world. This stadium also contains a single-tiered viewing terrace with a capacity of 30,000 people and is predominantly used for conducting football, cricket, and other sports events. This stadium has artificial lighting, making it possible to host both day and night matches. On the grounds of the stadium are a 400-meter track, hockey and football fields, locker rooms, a conference room, cloakrooms, a swimming pool, a ticket desk, an electronic scoreboard, a cafeteria, a public telephone booth, and telex-printer service rooms.
